IT SUPPORT OFFICER
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled IT Support Specialist to join our team. As an IT Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing prompt and efficient technical support to our employees, ensuring smooth operations of computer systems, software applications, hardware, and network infrastructure. You will play a crucial role in maintaining our company’s technology environment and enhancing end-user productivity.
Responsibilities:
- End-user Support: Respond to and resolve IT-related issues, inquiries, and service requests from employees through various channels such as in-person, phone, email, or ticketing systems. Troubleshoot problems related to hardware, software, network connectivity, and peripherals.
- Hardware Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and other IT equipment. Perform hardware upgrades, replacements, and repairs as necessary.
- Software Management: Install, upgrade, and troubleshoot software applications, including operating systems, productivity tools, and business applications. Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements.
- Network Troubleshooting: Assist in maintaining local area networks (LANs) and Wi-Fi connectivity. Troubleshoot network issues, including connectivity problems, access controls, and firewall configurations.
- Data Security: Collaborate with the IT security team to implement and enforce security measures, such as data backups, antivirus, and data encryption. Educate end-users on best practices for data security.
- System Administration: Perform routine system administration tasks, such as user account management, password resets, and group policy configurations.
- Documentation: Create and update technical documentation, including user guides, knowledge base articles, and system configurations.
- IT Procurement: Assist in sourcing and purchasing IT equipment and software. Maintain inventory of hardware and software assets.
- IT Projects: Participate in IT-related projects, such as system upgrades, software deployments, and infrastructure improvements.
- Training: Provide end-user training and support on various software applications and IT tools.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about the latest IT trends, technologies, and best practices. Propose and implement process improvements to enhance IT support services.
Requirements:
- Proven work experience as an IT Support Specialist or similar role.
- Strong technical knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and software applications.
- Familiarity with network infrastructure and troubleshooting network issues.
- Proficiency in Windows and macOS environments.
- Basic understanding of Active Directory, group policies, and user account management.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Customer-oriented approach with a focus on providing outstanding service.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Time management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional) are a plus.
